About Me

Hello there! My name is Kristen or Miss Kristen Darling if you so please. I'm 26 years old and live in Stone Mountain, Georgia, a suburb right outside of Atlanta(or OTP if you're hip to the lingo). I attended The University of Georgia in Athens, studying English Literature while having the time of my life + meeting some amazing people who would eventually become my best friends. I currently work at a museum and it's pretty awesome. While I'm no artist myself(I can only paint by numbers) I definitely love and appreciate art, so it's wonderful to be surrounded by it on a daily basis.

I've always been a fan of vintage, which stemmed from my love of old films as a child. Particularly those from the 30s-50s. I've only recently began to incorporate vintage into my daily lifestyle and truly feel that I've finally found my true self. Music plays a huge role in my life and has since I was very young. With that came an influence on how I dressed as well. Basically I went through a lovely emo/scene phase(side swept bangs, raccoon eyes, band tees, hoodies, Nike Dunks, the whole works!) probably from around 13 and well into my early 20s. I'm not ashamed about it as that's who I was and I was happy(plus I still wear band tees). But as I got older I started to pay more attention to the fashions of those classic movies I loved watching. My style slowly started to change as I began to prefer a more classic feminine style and one which would flatter my figure more as well as being unique.

But it's not just all vintage for me. As I already mentioned, I love music and it would take way too long to list all my favorite artists/ bands lol. But I've got a very diverse taste(my top favorite bands/artists are Led Zeppelin, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, David Bowie, & Ella Fitzgerald if that gives you an ideal lol.). I'm also a record collector. As far as films go, classic, horror, and sci fi/fantasy are my favorites. I'm a huge book worm and my favorite series is the Lord of the Rings triolgy(+ The Hobbit and The Silmarillion). I'm a huge nerd which I'm sure will be showcased throughout the blog as well. I've begun to knit and hope to learn to properly sew soon(I love Craftsy!). I love to cook and bake and it is actually something I would love to do professionally one day. And lastly another passion of mine is soccer and it's pretty much the only sport I regularly watch. I support Real Madrid C.F. Hala Madrid!

And this is where my journey begins. I spend hours reading blogs, watching YouTube videos, scrolling through Tumblr + Instagram, gaining inspiration from my fellow vintage loving ladies and gents to help me along my way. And hopefully this blog will help/inspire others looking to get into this lovely vintage world, especially those women of color who might be a bit hesitant as I once was. As the saying goes, "do you, boo". :)

xoxo
